Oxford Health Plans Compass Dimensional Mailer
Preferred Choice of the Oxford Sales Force
A few years ago, we created this dimensional mailer which featured a nautical theme and included a silver-plated compass premium for Oxford Health Plans. The purpose of the piece was to demonstrate that Oxford was "staying true to its original course of offering access to high quality healthcare."
While we wanted to take a nautical approach, we didn't want it to look too old-fashioned or male-oriented since the audience is both female and male. So we took a more lighthearted approach to the map illustration, showing playful flying fish on the border and using bright colors.
Inside, to stay on theme, the letter was rolled, tied with a ribbon, and placed near the compass.
Later, we heard from the client that this high-impact mailer - which had been tested against a few dimensional packages - was the clear favorite of the sales force because prospects remembered and liked the theme and compass premium.
And today, Oxford, which recently merged with UnitedHealthcare, continues to successfully press onward in new directions.
